Tips & Tricks: How to change the question in your forum

in Tips & Tricks by Daniel Kan

Before you launch, make your UserVoice site target the questions you want answered. Our forums are a great way to ask that specific question about a product, but first you need to know how to edit your question.

Here's how to change the default "I suggest you..." prompt:

1. Sign in to the Admin Console.

2. Click on the forum you wish to edit, in most cases this will be your "General" forum unless you have added another forum.

3. Click on the newly revealed "Settings" tab next to the "Users" tab.

4. Here you will see the ability to edit the text prompts as well as change default language, increase vote count, and add categories.

Asking the right question can be the different between getting the next great idea or getting a lot of unsolicited ideas on trivial topics. Think through the question you want to ask before you ask it and get great results!
